- More about me

I'm now 62, have two sons, a grandaughter, 5 cats and a dog. My husband and I designed and built a nautical style home. We loved to fish for redfish, trout and snapper in the Florida intracoastal. He died March 2007 after a long bout with cancer. We were married 30 years. He was so courageous and we were both humbled by God.
A new future is starting for me. I've moved closer to my son and live in a tiny house. I've joined a church that has a wonderful outreach service providing food, medical and social services all in one spot. I'm also very excited about Obama for president, and will be helping to register voters. My den is now an art studio for oil painting and paper collage. My gardening was a hoot and I've got gorgeous weeds to show for it.

What you wrote in Widows and Widowers re the loss of a woman's husband with leukmeia was wonderful.
I think we all can relate to her feelings of pain and emptiness.
To make something that we want to eat, and what we want to watch on TV "does" happen in time, I went through all of it and thought I was going to die. I see myself in so many of the posts in the beginning.
I was at my husband's fimily reunion in July, flew into Gainesville. His family lives in Silver Springs/Ocala.
Have a good day
Chris
