Raised in Escanaba, Michigan. Graduated from Central Catholic in 1964. Attended Sacred Heart Seminary College in Detroit and Northwestern in Traverse City. Have lived in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. BUT I'm a yooper through and through!( that's a person who's from the upper peninsula of Michigan--God's country!) My husband Joe and I went on a cruise to the Caribbean in 2000.

Guess I could be considered a genuine "war baby"

Have always loved nature.  My favorite time and place, sunset on the water.

Consider myself spiritual.  Am a Catholic.  The word means "Universal" and though I am devoted to my faith I have found friendships with those of differing beliefs and feel blessed with the number of good friends of all faiths.  Favorite Saints are St. Francis of Assisi and Teresa of Avila, whom I picked as my Confirmation Saint when researching the lives of saints.  At a difficult time in her ministry she prayed aloud, "Lord, if this is how YOU treat Your friends, its no wonder why You have so few of them."  I, like Teresa, hope to be known as a woman with a heart for God and family but often bluster and by the grace of God have learned that laughter is the best and only solution to the question of "LIFE".

i LOVE STORIES

Good, upllifting stories, preferably non-fiction.

I love art .  I draw.  Paint. Sculpt. Black-and-White photography grabs my attention.  Love to do portraits of people and animals.  Have just begun to venture into color and find that painting is feeling better all the time.  Favorite artists, Walt Disney, Norman Rockwell, Michaelangelo...there are many more but these are my heroes!

Would consider myself a "late-bloomer"...have always been devoted to my family but now find that there is uncharted happiness in exploring the precious gifts that The Creator has given to my care.

Have several miracle stories to share.  I welcome the same from other members.

Above all, I laugh.  I laugh with you at me.  I would love to set a time and date for a worldwide laugh.  I have no doubt that God has a wonderful and boundless sense of humor!

Have been blessed with two beautiful children and five grandchildren.

I have always loved kids.  Am the second of 11. Shocked?  There should have been 14!  Was raised as eldest of 8--long story with a miracle outcome!

I used to work with children in the Catholic Church.  Was able to share my gifts and enjoy the gifts of others for several years.  This is what I am most grateful for in my life.  That opportunity will never be equalled in my heart, I think.

.Am very moved by Native American Spirituality.  I feel a deep affinity with them.  As they know that "The Great Spirit" is alive in all of creation, so do I. 

Just learned a smidgeon about computers recently and am delighted with what I am learning.  As with all things there are bumps in the road but overall this is another very enjoyable experience for me!

 

TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS AT EONS:  MY MONIKER ON EONS IS WHYDICOMEINHERE....THIS IS MY OFTEN USED EXPRESSION--ESPECIALLY IN THE MORNING.  SOME DAYS IT TAKES THREE TRIPS BEFORE THE COFFEE'S FINALLY BREWING!!!  Can I hear that? Are you laughing with me?  Good!  Times like these have become an old joke to me, but I still laugh, because,I want to!

Activities

Art, writing, crafting, knitting and crocheting, photography, walking, sitting by the water at sunset, talking with my girls and my six grandchildren. I love Disney Movies and hope one day to vacation at a Disney-owned locale. I consider myself an imitator of art because every art we employ is in imitation to the One Who created that which we imitate.

St. Jude's Hospital and my Church's charities.

Favorite Music

I listen to Christian music often. I enjoy old broadway musicals, some modern also, songs from the big band era, light jazz and light classical--remember when Disney used classical music as a background in practically everything he produced? Loved it then, love it now! Are you ready??? Does anybody else like John Phillip Sousa? Yep!! Marching bands. LOVE 'em. Bagpipes! Violins--strings, for that matter, how sweet to the soul!

Favorite TV Shows

Love to watch and enjoy the talents shared by singers, dancers, especially ballet and ballroom dancing, love the old comedies. I do watch the Hallmark channel, Animal Planet and most true forensic-type programs (did I just give away the fact that most of the men in my family are in law-enforcement, or are retired troopers?) Must be in the blood...ha remember when dna meant does not answer?

Favorite Movies

Pay it Forward, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Green Mile, Bambi, Pinocchio, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, Forrest Gump, Best movies are those that have something unspoken, often, but worth keeping as a part of you. Any Bible-based movie has my attention. Was difficult to watch The Passion of The Cross, but I watched it again, as has been my tradition during Lent (several times) Loved The Nativity Story..very true to scripture and thought-provoking.

Favorite Books

Love to read non-fiction. Love poetry and short stories. Best is the Bible, where the best writers pull strings of wisdom to weave into their writings.

Billy Goode's Lake in Wetmore, Michigan, Escanaba, Michigan (especially Ludington Park), Suttons Bay, Michigan, Any library or museum, the theatre, concerts in the park, the Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Michigan.

German Shepherds, horses, Labs, angora rabbits, parakeets, did I mention Shepherds and HORSES?
