Lived in a number of places in the Midwest. All big cities. Finally escaped and hope I don't have to face that again. Too many people, too much traffic, not to mention the cost of living. I've also lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, Chicago 'burbs twice and graduated from college in Milwaukee, WI. Happy where I live, great fishing and beautiful scenery but don't like being alone.

Ahem, here goes. Not too sure about what to say here. I am a widow with two kids and a big old Victorian house that I'll work on forever, probably.
I enjoy the outdoors and was a tomboy as a kid. My late husband and I farmed for 16 years and I loved it. Would go back to that in a heartbeat.
I always lived in big cities while growing up and while in college and hated it. Even the town I live in which has about 8,000 people is too big for my tastes.
My youngest is in college and when he does come home its to do laundry, grab my second car and disappear until he needs a ride back. My daughter is out of college and lives in the same town as my son so it makes it convenient to see her too. They both live about 100 miles away.
I became a widow in 1994, after 18 years of marriage, when I was 43 and the kids were 6 and 11 at the time, so I've been a single parent to them for most of their lives. I think I've done a pretty good parenting job and my kids and I are closer than most I think.
I'm pretty laid back and easy going. Tolerant of other people's beliefs and viewpoints. Low maintenance and loyal. Open to new ideas and I'm really enjoying EONS.

I have several pets and enjoy fishing, camping, reading and riding my horse. Also auctions, flea markets and watching the Green Bay Packers!! I also work in stained glass as a hobby. Someday I hope to learn to fly fish and tie my own flies and then take them out and see if they work. Also very into genealogy and doing research and helping other people with theirs. Usually up for new ideas of fun things to do.

It is storming here and we really appreciate the rain. I did garage sales today and found a pretty purple t shirt with polar bears.
I like almost all animals, but still do not appreciate snakes as I should. My husband baled up a rattlesnake once and did we have fun finding him/her.
Now, our neighbor comes up and does our haywork. We only do hay due to the horses. I don't want chemicals used to dry the hay used.
I spent a week in Minnesota with my other granddaughter and it has taken me a week to recuperate.
We just gave the 3 Yorkies a bath. Maria has dogs in 4H plus horse and her collection of "pretties".
My daughter from Maryland will be here over the 4th of July and then back to Minnesota on the 18th of July as my daughter in law-ex is having surgery. Then we will bring Lexie home with us for a week or two. I was blessed with a great daughter-in-law. I kept her when my son got a divorce.
How are you doing? Enjoying the summer? Have you been to Cahokia Mounds? I think that is so interesting. There is a really neat museum in the Indian Reservation near Milles Lac.
Summer will be over soon. Please write when you can.
