High School Name (City, State) Pensacola High School Pensacola, Florida College Name Pensacola Junior College College Graduation Major/Concentration Attended but didn't graduate...got about 1 1/2 yrs. credit in core requirements. Loved Earth Science and Astronomy. Also, Literature. Wish I had could have gone longer. Occupation(s) I worked for 30 years for the school system of Escambia County. I started as a teachers aide and moved to office work. After working as a clerk typist for a lot of years I became a school secretary, which was what I was doing when I retired. I enjoyed meeting people and helping them. I realized I would always want to be where there was a lot of people activity. But I'm not interested in working at this present time...maybe later after I get tired of being retired!!! : )!!

I am a 69 year old woman living alone with a red lored Amazon parrot and an African Grey parrot that talks too much-- I used to wonder why the jokes about parrots that got put into the freezer!!!!  : )   I know now!!!  Divorced 18 yrs. ago - had 2 live-in relationships that didn't work out. I'm trying again.  I enjoy gardening (Camellias especially), my church, socializing with friends and family, cooking, reading, cajun music/food festivals and dancing, live music, quiet evenings watching TV.

I volunteer for Covenant Hospice and try to give back what I have been given.

Don't miss "Reign on Me" w/Adam Sandler--wonderful!!! Music documentarys--"I'm Not There" - Bob Dylan; also "On Golden Pond", movies with Edward Norton in them ("The Illusionist").

Cajun music, food, festivals and dancing; gardening --Camillia Club mtgs and searching for patent Camellias; cooking for friends and family, short road trips; reading and watching T.V.; visiting the beach in the spring, summer and winter, art galleries, juried arts and craft shows--birdhouses, windchimes, leaded glass celebrities--(Jimi Hendrix best I've seen--and most expensive), and wood carving are favorites, antique shops and "junking"/flea markets searching for antiques and other treasures, shopping, an occasional new, good movie, talking to friends & family on phone

Bible, all the Southern Living cookbooks, Non-fiction books--autobiographys of successful women, how-too manuals, personal improvement; The Camellia Journal, Birds and Blooms, Justin Wilson cookbooks, Chef John Folse cookbook--Plantation Celebration, AARP Magazine, People. I enjoyed the Amy Tan series, books by Gilbert Morris, historys of American towns/cities and people who developed them.

Favorite Quotes

All those my mother, grandmother and aunts used to say to me on every occasion - especially "You will reap what you sow" , "If you lay down with dogs you'll get up with fleas", "Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free", "You're known by the company you keep", "Do unto others as you would have them do to you" and on, and on, and on, and on--many more of the same. The Smokey Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee National Forest, Cades Cove, Calloway Gardens Ga.--gardens and Ada Cason Chapel in the spring and at Christmas, Lafayette La. at Festivals Acadiens in October, the Grant Street Dance Hall, Pat's Fisherman's Wharf and Whiskey River Landing in Lafayette, La. during festival days, (I know what it means--to miss New Orleans)!!

Favorite Animals

Chow dogs are my favorite, I like all dogs but prefer the larger ones. I just lost my red chow to effects of old age, and have just got a Catahoula/Chow/AmericanBulldog puppy!!! WOW!! What a handful!! I also like cats but haven't been able to have one in a long time, I'm borrowing one who's brave enought to visit. I also like birds of the parrot family and own two, an African Grey male, and a Red Lored Amazon female. My African Grey, Maggie--a nonstop talker!!!!
