High School Name: Messmer- One of my favorite memories involving a nun was when I was going up crowded down stair case as a freshman and was met by the nun who teaches algebra as she was coming down. She looked at me and asked “Are you retarded?”
College Name
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). What a rude awakening! After having done very well in school all my life I got my first D. I never felt so stupid as I did in my Calculus class. Living at home, working 16-24 hours at a local supermarket and attending UWM were really great years. What’s better is, I was smart enough to realize it at the time.

1976. In May of 1976, I said goodbye to formal schooling forever. Unfortunately, I still had (and have) many more lessons to learn from the school of hard knocks.

More about me

I’m a divorced dad of one son, my best buddy. I’ve work full time with the same employer for over thirty years, a rarity these days. I try my best to stay active as I think that is so important as we grow older. I enjoy golfing (or, in my case trying to) and the great outdoors. I’ve a little cabin near Mercer in the forest in northern Wisconsin that is my little piece of heaven. I get up there whenever I can.
