More about me

I was married & divorced at 19 from a guy who turned out to be extremely violent. I never married again. At first I was just gun-shy, then I figured out that being in a relationship didn't solve personal problems. Those who are not happy with themselves will not be satisfied with anyone else. So I learned to like me. And now I'm dealing with people much better.  

I'm always doing something. The word "bored" isn't part of my personal vocabulary. There's a whole world out there, how could you be bored? There's always something out there to learn about, to try out, to do. You don't have to do everything, but it's a waste to do nothing. I do daydream, but that's just my mind planning & exploring while I rest up for the next venture or activity. I guess I can be kind of unconventional sometimes.

I'm a Christian, but my faith is always being tested, formed, tested again & reformed. Faith is a process & cannot be cast in stone. It has to grow & develop. To me faith is about relationship with God & people, & about character.

People are important. It's amazing how sometimes you become close friends with people you never would have chosen yourself. My best friend is bi-polar, & presently is in the midldle of a lengthy crisis. One day I walked over just to chat with her, ended up giving her rides, & out of that developed a close friendship. In time, I became her primary caregiver when she needs it. 

My pet dog is a Shar-pei/Retriever mix that I got from a rescue shelter & is deaf. I taught her ASL signs (I know American Sign Language) & she learned it pretty quickly. All my friends  love her. She's still a bit jumpy, but getting better all the time.

A few people have asked me what I'd do if money were no object. My mind always goes blank. Maybe sail around the world, although I might keep doing what I'm doing now. Maybe I'd hire a housekeeper. Someday I wanna have a clean house ... :-D

Make yourself at home here. Give the fish a bite to eat, play a song on my piano, learn a touch of Spanish ... there are a few things to do here in my studio!

Favorite Charities

I used to have favorites but got sick of them inundating my mailbox with their favorites, who sold my name to their favorites to the point that the mailbox exploded with demands for cash. It got asinine. Now I give locally. It's easier.

Mostly instrumentals: jazz, some blues, light rock, classical, Asian, American Plains Indian, light New Age, Central & South American indigenous music ... probably others

Who's got time for TV? Where is that thing, anyway?
