- More about me
-
I was born in Washington DC and went to school there up through collage. I was drafted into the USAF in 1961 and got to see Texas. This gave me a great reason not to go back to the nut capital. The Air Force decided to make me a computer expert and sent me to Olmstead AB in PA. There I learned to program several different types of computers and was sent to Korea to set up a computer center.
After 14 months in Korea we still did not have a computer because the dingbats in Washington DC were playing games again. I was assigned to a Special Opperations Group and sent to Williams AB in Arizona while my security clearances came through. There I continued collage and almost graduated when my orders came through and I went to the Pentagon to do secret stuff with computers. In November 1969 I was fed up with the political nonsence and quit the Air Force, taking the first job I could find that would get me out of Washington DC. So this started my 25 year career with IBM. I have been retired for 5 years and plan to stay that way.
