I’ve lived in Washington state for 30+ years, and so I call it home. My roots are embedded deep within the rich clay soil of Nebraska. The remnants of my family are magnetically grounded there, and I think they always will be. This magically brings the pioneers in the family back for family reunions on a not so regular basis.
I’m an oncology nurse, and that pretty much defines me. I love my job and the teaching it allows. I love helping others and being their advocates. I love the process of learning and the very nature of nursing.
For fun….I love to travel. My husband and I just returned from our life dream trip to New Zealand and I’m in the process of writing that story.
We’ve traveled to Scotland, Honduras, Roatan, Alaska and Hawaii together, and look forward to many more adventures before it’s over. We plan to retire in a few short years and to begin exploring this very great country we live in as well. We have the new camper sitting out there in the drive waiting for our first spring adventure of the year.
I have four children, three that are living. I lost my beloved son Joshua 10 years ago. He was killed in a head on accident, and thus forever changing my perspective on life. My remaining children have blessed me with five beautiful grandsons. These boys are the very best. They all are involved in sports, and right now, I have a full schedule of baseball games filling nearly every night of the week. How will I ever be able to watch my beloved Mariners with all these ballgames. I know one thing, they (Mariners) had better buck up this year, or I won’t be watching.
I am learning to golf, and really enjoy the game. I love to garden and have beautiful flowers sprouting out of every nook and cranny in my yard. I love to write, and currently working on a children’s fantasy story. My goal is to be published someday. It really irritates me when I read articles stating “and she was over 50 when she was first published”. Like that is some ancient, mindless age. I feel I am heading into the very best time of my life. I feel productive and vital and like I have a lot to offer.
How bout You?

My job in the health care industry inspires me to write poetry. Over the years this passion for writing has grown. I write poetry when inspired by emotions, passions, grief, love, fear. I also have been writing a childrens book and hope to finish it this year. That is the goal. I also love being outside. I like traveling in our luxurious rv, to remote mountain areas where I can watch nature. I have a hobby with my camera, trying to get that "great" shot of nature. I am a birdwatcher on these trips. I love flowers and growing them. I like to fish, snorkel, ski, scuba, (although I had to quit d/t bp) and sail.
