- More about me

I'm a dental Technician..have been for over 25 years...work for a private practice, rather than in a commercial lab. Served 4 years in the Marine Corps, 1968-1972, did a tour in Vietnam in 1969-70. Have been married twice..not married at the moment...have 3 Daughters.
I've lived in quite a number of states throughout the countery...originally from Ohio, but grew up also in Indiana, live in Denver for awhile..was in Seattle when Mt. St. Helens went boom (that's kind of a milestone in itself...LOL) I've lived in Texas in a couple of places...San Antonio and Galveston...also San Diego during my tour of duty. Also, N. Carolina and Florida. I've been in Massachusetts since about 1981.
Other jobs I've had in my earlier life are eclectic at best...everything from a lonely Maytag Repairman, to a crocery clerk, to Airport Security, to an Insurance Salesman (I couldn't sell mittens to Eskimos) I was a plater for a short time..making printed circuit boards for Boeing through a sub-contractor.
I've owned my own home.....and been homeless, I've lived with friends and or lovers and lived alone. I've owned lots of dogs..from the time I was a kid (not at the moment)..had a cat for 15 years that I rescued out of a mud puddle as a kitten. I've wrestled, played football...ran cross country, did some theatre some years ago...I love golf...can't afford to play much..and I play badly..but it's fun anyway..I'm a Nascar fan, a dedicated Conservative (though I don't agree with the entire party line). I've had a little money..and I've filed bankruptsy....
overall..I wouldn't change anything in my life..there were some hard time..and I learned from them...the good far outweighs the bad...I'm an optimist at heart..I love to laugh..and I love to make others laugh....
I love old movies, among my favorites are "it happend one night", "12 angry men", "inherit the wind", any Tracy-Hepburn movie...
I read James Patterson, Stephen King, Mary Higgins Clark, Sue Grafton, and at least a dozen others, and never drive ANYWHERE without an audio book in the CD...even to the store..LOL
I love the oldies....was always a folk fan....Guthrie,(both father and son) Peter paul and Mary, et all, a hardcore Simon and Garfunkle fan (my fav of theirs is sort of obscure"For Emily, whenever I may find her"....The Kingston Trio.....was a big John Denver Fan....Got to see him at Red Rocks, outside of denver..best concert I ever saw.
As for tv...My all time favorite Drama/sitcom...M*A*S*H...wasn't a fan of the movie though.....love most any legal drama...."law and order, CSI, the old Hill Street Blues, I'm sort of a closet South Park fan, (except for one really disgusting Christmas show they did)
I was never a cartoon fan as a kid..with maybe one exception...that was "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show"....but that, I always beleived was more for adults than kids anyway
I've come to be sort of a Suduko fan...always did Crosswords and logic puzzles too......I love to play board games...as long as they have a touch of ..what?....logic?...or maybe require some thought or strategy....games like parchesi...that are just a matter of luck and the dice do not appeal to me....
I love to play cards....canasta, spades, hearts, cribbage, euchre, Gin, Pinochle..and many others....
I love horror stories, and roller Coasters. My favorite soft drink as a kid was Royal Crown Cola..my favorite candy was Bonomo's Turkish Taffy, I thought wax lips and Pixie sticks were cool...I built more tree houses than anybody I know.
My first memory as a kid was in a hospital bed..I think it was after I'd been diagnosed with rheumatic Heart disease (back then it was thought to be a deadly thing)..and I got a toy car hauler from my dad...(he was a truck driver)
My most terrifying moment was probably my first firefight in Vietnam....(i just ducked and fired blindly around whatever the hell it was I was hiding behind at the moment)...MY happiest moment has happened hundreds of times..and I'm sure will continue to for years to come (hey..I SAID I was an optimist)
Well..I'd better shut up...I haven't jabbered this much since lunch...LOL

We do have other things in common. Although I did not have a combat role in the Army (1968-1972) I have always loved my country and would sacrifice my life in it's defense. I wonder how how many of today's college brats would. This country belongs in the hands of those who would defend it instead of letting it be taken apart bit by bit to please those who don't give a damn. Sorry about my cursing but I am mad this country is headed toward third world status.
