Places I've been

High School Name (City, State) Tularosa High School, Tularosa, NM College Name I did not attend college. I've been from Canada to Mexico; from California to Maine, and visited many other places in between. I have three favorite spots in the great U.S.A. They are the great White Sands in NM, Yosemite in CA, and Bar Harbor, ME, not necessarily in that order...but close!

More about me

I retired from retail in 2004 and have thoroughly enjoyed being at home full time. During the local high school football homecoming season, I still make and sell homecoming mums (silk) along with selling ribbons, silk mums, and trinkets to those who wish to make their own.

Other time is spent working outside with various flower beds, a small garden, making jam from our various fruit trees of apricot, peach, apple, quince, and jujube. Throw in a little time for spotty housework, some quick cooking, and a lot of computer time (especially on EONS and Pogo.com) to finish out a full day of R E T I R E M E N T!

 

Activities

Gardening, silk floral arranging, making various fruit jam, playing computer games on Pogo.com, e-messaging several of my old classmates, enjoying the peace and quiet of my rural home. And, last but not least, having coffee and talking with my hubby of 34 years.

Favorite Music

Country western from the 50's thru the 70's, with Jim Reeves as my favorite singer. I'm not too emotional, but I cried when he died. I enjoy listening to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, and singers of that era. Please don't blare the music! I like it soft and low.

Favorite TV Shows

PBS intrigues me with their documentaries; so does Dateline. CSI series are interesting, along with Cold Case, NCIS, and 48 Hours. I enjoyed LOST until it became so involved in flashbacks and mix-ups. I'm not sure the writers even know what's going on anymore. I no longer watch it very often. Occasionally, I enjoy Dancing with the Stars.

Favorite Books

Oh, there are so many that I cannot begin to list them all. Frank Yerby's "Judas, My Brother, " Edna Ferber's "So Big, " Ernest Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms, " Ayn Rand's "The Fountainhead" and "Atlas Shrugged"...and so very many more!

Favorite Places

My own back yard has become my favorite place. I have gone enough, seen enough, done enough. Now I want to enjoy reflection of those things while relaxing in my own home.

The wild, free stallion horse is my favorite. What a magnificent animal he is.
