Places I've been

As a child I lived in CT., VA, and S.C. but consider Philadelphia home. Summer vacations were spent either at the Jersey shore or in the mountains growing up. My brothers and I vacationed on Cape Hatteras, NC as we grew older and I have fond memories of camping there. I have visited most of the east coast states from Maine down through South Carolina. I have lived in Los Angeles for the past 25 years.

Hi! I’m the proud mom of three adult sons ranging in ages from 20 to 24 years. Currently the youngest is in college studying sciences hoping to go into some area of the medical profession. My middle son, who took a break from school when offered the opportunity to travel the world playing bass (“Mom, I actually got to see the pyramids. I stood there for a half an hour in awe.”)  plans to continue with computer science or engineering. My oldest son is a flight instructor/pilot for an independent local flight school.

I teach students with special needs on a large general ed. middle school campus. In January, I cleared the Level II moderate/severe credential and am five classes away from a Masters. Yippee! I’m taking a break from graduate school now, and am concentrating on the less cerebral side of living. Fun must be a priority sometimes!

I enjoy the company of animals as well as people and have two dogs, three parrots, and three exotic tortoises as well as a Guinea pig. Anything to do with the ocean-swimming, sailing, kayaking, strolling-makes me happy. I also like to take long brisk walks, engage in weight training, and practice a bit of Yoga. Reading, music, photography, and dancing are enjoyable activities for me.
