North Carolina is home. Kentucky is where I live for now. I've lived in NC, OK, CA, NC again, GA, VA, NC again, TX, NC again, and now KY. I think the Jersey shore is as close to heaven as you get between coastal NC and Maine. ** When I was 16, we took a family camping trip, first from western NC to Williamsburg, VA, then up the coast to Maine, across upstate NY, NH, and VT to OH, then south through KY and TN back home. I'm pretty sure Maine IS an outpost of heaven -- G-d has a summer home there, yes? -- and I remember thinking, driving down the highway, looking at the rolling fields and horses, that I wanted to live in KY someday. ** And 37 years later, here I am! (Actually, it was 30 years -- I've been here since 8/2001.) ** Oh, and I've been to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Remind me sometime to tell you about my brother and the beer bottles...

Well, shoot! I had this really great autobio all drafted, and then I saw that 30-second thing!
Okay, here it is in a nutshell: I'm a writer. I'm from the South. I'm about as far Left as you can get without falling off the deep end. I love to cook, garden, dance, and ride my bike. I love my family, I miss my dogs (sniff...), and I used to follow the Dead off and on. I'm passionate about the environment, good food, and good music.
And I'm one of those people who would never think of saying in one paragraph what they could fit into a whole chapter!!
