Places I've been

I have lived most of my life in Alabama, except for 5 years in Miami, Fl. I have visited many of the lower 48, with Crater Lake, the RedWood Forest and the Smokey Mountains my favorite. I have driven all over Ireland, England, and Wales, a little of Canada and a little of Mexico. This world is a wonderful place.

I am a wife of  52 years having married my high school sweetheart at the age of 16. I was a senior in high school and he a freshman in college. I worked the first nine years helping him get his college degree at night after he worked during the day. Then in 1964 we started our family with a son, now has a small mechanic shop, and has one 17 year old son and my oldest grandchild. In 1968 our daughter was born. She is married and has a degree and works in Human Resources. Then in 1975 our real surprise came along in the form of a baby boy. He is now married with a little girl 5 and a new baby born in August. He works in the security equipment industry. All my children and my grandchildren are indeed blessings sent from God.

 

I grew up in a wonderful, loving family. The memories I have of my childhood growing up are another blessing. My mom and dad were the kindest people I’ve ever known. My sister, 13 months my senior, was even more then my best friend. My grandparents, maternal and paternal, were the perfect picture of grandparents and I had a host of aunts and uncles and cousins that will always be close to my heart. I have also been blessed through the years with so many wonderful friends that have come into my life.

 

My husband took an early retirement, age 58, and we were fortunate to take many trips and enjoy the beginning of our golden years. Then 23 months ago he had an accident on our farm and has not been able to walk or stand since then. All of our life together he took care of me, and now it’s my turn. He and I still live on the farm, but the only animal left is our sweet old dog. So in pretty weather, the three of us, my husband, I, and the dog sit on our big porch and watch the birds feed from our feeders. But that’s a wonderful thing to do. One of my joys has been finding Eons and meeting the wonderful people in my groups.
