I started out as a stockboy while in high school. After graduation and a year and a half in college, I joined the Marine Corps, where I served four years. I worked in sales and marketing after I got out of the Corps. I'm an author with a novel coming out in January 2008 entitled Veiled Threats. I write fiction - primarily detective/crime stuff and science fiction/fantasy.

I'm sixty-years-old country boy who was born and raised in Chicago, where I attended Taft High School. I spent from 1966 to 1970 in the Marine Corps. My military service helped pay for my education. I have a bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University and a masters from Webster University.

I have been married to the same woman for almost 38 years. My wife and I live in the far northern subuurbs of Chicago up near the Wisconsin border with a loveable, enthusiastic Lab/Great Dane mix named Clancy.

I've been writing since 1995 and have penned several unpublished manuscripts. My first publised work was entitled The Spirit Taker, a work of fantasy that is no longer in print. However, I have a whole box full of them if anyone is interested in buying a copy. In January of 2008 my latest novel, Veiled Threats, will be available under the pen name Lloyd Frankland.

Veiled Threats is about a sixty-year-old Chicago homicide detective named Morgan Strongbow who comes to work one day and learns he has a new partner, a thirty-something female detective from Narcotics and Vice named Sara Rydell.

When Sara learns Strongbow dated her aunt in high school, she begins picking at his emotional scab to unlock his most intimate secrets concerning what happened back then.

Despite severe generational differences, Strongbow and Sara must work to solve the murder of a young Muslim woman. What at first seemed to be nothing more than a botched mugging becomes something far more sinister when another young woman is found murdered.

Veiled Threats will be available in January of 2008. I hope my Eons friends will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
