More about me

Lived in Ohio most my life ; but moved to Florida & New York for a few years each .At that point in time there were no jobs to be had in this part of Ohio . Unemployment was running out and didn't want to be stuck without work . So I did what I had to and moved . But not always easy to leave all your family behind .  But it did make me appreciate the things I did have back in Ohio . I probably would have never realized it without that part of moving in my life .

California was just a place I wanted to go and visit all my life . I had a friend and his whole family move out there and I got an invitation to come out and visit so I took it . But I always wanted to hitch-hike across america . Even though this was only from Ohio to California ; I figured why not . Wasn't the best time of the year to do it ; I took off on New Years day . I was snowing and cold as hell . But I sort of forced my had I told a bunch of friends at the New Years Eve party that I was going to leave . Well next day ; hung over and barely awake I took off . Took me about 5 days to make it but I did . I got my first ride form some Amish type people to south of Toledo . Next some guy picked me up and gave me a ride to the other side of Columbus . Yes Its the long way to get there but I just wanted out of the cold and snow . From there got a ride to Texas . From there 3 more rides and I was in California .  Spent one nite in the desert ; and yes it gets real cold at night in the desert . None of the people really were that memorable . That was part of the reason for hitch-hiking was to meet people . The one that did stand out though was a guy who told me about a guy he killed and he had just been out of jail at that point for a year . I was glad to get out of his car .
