I have been happily married for 25 years to the same guy & we lived most of our lives in San Diego.  We moved 9 years ago to a small town in Northern Arizona for the fresh air, outdoor activities in the nearby mountains, changing seasons & a slower, friendlier lifestyle.  We love to garden & had tropical plants in SD & of course, it was year round.  We learned about new plants & flowers we couldn't grow there, like tulips.  The only thing we miss about San Diego is the Zoo, of which we were members for many years.  We are nice, friendly folks who like almost everyone we meet.


Favorite Charities
Animal groups, especially United Animal Friends, which is local, Meals on Wheels & Special Olympics. The Seva Foundation which gives cataract surgery to restore sight & Heifer International.
Activities
We like to hike & go camping in our little RV, we love dogs & other animals. I like to read. I collect Boyd's Bears & Friends, especially moose & I love antiques.
Favorite Music
Classic rock mostly but just about anything that is good is OK
Favorite TV Shows
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart & The Colbert Report. Most comedy shows & old classic movies.
Favorite Movies
Topper & Harvey for starts...still working on this as there are so many.I hate to admit it but Harold & Maude is on the list.
Favorite Books
So many to choose from...it'll take more time. I do own every Gary Larson book.

You are the Hanged Man

Self-sacrifice, Sacrifice, Devotion, Bound.

With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of loss from a situation, rather than gain.

The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.

The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.
