History

Places I've been
Ahhhh, Tulare, Ca. Central Valley town of 15,000, now 45,000. Great place to raise famiy. No gangs, lots of little league, Campfire Girls, and good family times at holidays and church. (Hometown), High School Name (City, State)
Go Redskins! Tulare Union Class of '70. I was active in Campus Life, Youth for Christ, Future Teachers. I loved making homecoming floats with my friends and singing in the Freedom Revelation Choir all the way up to Oregon.
College Name
Which one? I always console my slow ascent to my diploma by saying, "I was on the decade plan and graduated two years ahead of schedule!" First our local j.c. College of the Sequoias, then Warner Pacific College in Portland, OR, back the COS, graduated from Fresno Pacific University with Liberal Arts major and California State Teaching Credential:)
College Graduation Year
1978: I still the only one of mom and dad's six kids or any of a multitude of cousins and then neices and nephews who graduated from college. But my neice is almost there, and heck, one brother is the chief of County fire dept. We all work hard and play harder.
College Graduation Major/Concentration
Liberal Arts: Pretty soon I'd be answering a question on a test in one class and would think, "Hmmmm, I know this answer, but it's because of something I learned in my other class." Cool. I loved the way it all blended together and was so balancing. I college I learned about composers and artists for the first time. I'll never forget our visit to the Getty Museum in Malibu. ('Course, the most exciting part was literally walking into William Shatner!)
Occupation(s)
First one? Hahaha, a guy in our church owned a string of ice cream trucks. I was pd. $1 per "mix" to make soft ice cream cones to sell on the trucks. Two summers later I was an ice cream truck driver; averaged $1 an hour for a 12 hr. day in 104 heat! But it was fun selling to my friends & their kid bros/sis. Then I was a car hop at Marv's drive-in, a clothing clerk at Gottschalk's in college, a waitress at a pie shop in OR, a typist @ Josten's Yearbooks, a factory worker and finally a teacher!
