Places I've been
Being an Air Force brat, I lived in San Angelo Texas, Albany Georgia, Fairbanks Alaska, and Riverside California before I turned five years old. My dad retired early from the military and I did most of my growing up on the edge of the California desert, near Beaumont. My mom moved to Berkeley CA when I was in college, so the Bay area became home. Since 1972 I've lived in Massachusetts.

More about me
My mom always said that the two best things you can do for yourself are education and travel. And travel we did. My dad was in the Air Force. I was born in Texas and at age 1 1/2 traveled by car to Fairbanks, Alaska on the unpaved AL-CAN highway. Dad was transferred to Southern California in 1954, and to get there we took a the USNS Frederick Funston down the inside passage from Anchorage to Seattle. My first cruise. And I have been traveling, and especially sailing, every chance I get since.
