I was first a research associate in the biology laboratory at Amherst College where we studied butterfly mimicry and bird predation. Later when my boss moved to Florida, I took some weaving classes and apprenticed in a weaving studio before setting up my own home production weaving studio. I wove material for up to 6 different crafts people from all over the States until I retired in 1998. Briefly I worked as a web site designer in a local small firm before retiring completely in 2001.

I am a retired production handweaver living on my small farm where I enjoy raising a small vegetable/flower garden each year. I used to have lots of farm animals to tend until my weaving business took off and my looms began to monopolize my time. I now weave only as a hobby and I volunteer locally, helping put on our weekly senior lunch at the town hall, volunteering at the Food Bank and taking friends who no longer drive to appointments and shopping. Taking a Caribbean cruise is my idea of the perfect vacation.

Yes, you are right. We leave on our cruise on the Carnival Miracle the day you return. So...I'll wave back to you. My favorite ship is also the Paradise. We've only been on it once and it was still non-smoking at the time. It's a shame they couldn't keep it that way. It was interesting to hear that your trans Panama Canal cruise was your favorite. We may have to try that one! Enjoy your cruise and "see" you in Fort Lauderdale!
