History
My hometown
Other places I've been
First trip by train and air to Chicago and San Francisco in 1958. Moved to Silver Spring, MD, 1963. Then back and forth from N.O. to Norfolk, then to settle in Maryland in 1965 because Hurricane Betsy prevented a return home after a tour in the Military. A divorce sent me back home to New Orleans in 1975. There I met a Californian, husband #2, and in 1976 moved to CA. My travels included the entirety of the state of CA and some of Oregon, plus some side trips to Belize and Panama. Lived in Sacramento and Ramona CA. Then back to New Orleans where I experienced another divorce. Then I attained my first and second life's dreams, a college degree and extensive travels to Europe and Montreal. Marriage # 3, to a New Orleans native, led to an exciting new life including a company move to Houston, TX in 1989, and an early retirement move to Clearlake, TX in 1992. In the meantime more exciting travels to Mexico, Aruba, Guatamala, the Virgin Islands, The Canary Islands, Turks and Caico's. Then came the fulfillment of my third dream -- a dream of a lifetime. Purchased a 41' DeFever and took to the waterways for 2 years. Many wonderful days, weeks and months in in such ports as Perdido Key, FL, Tampa, Naples, The Florida Keys, The Bahamas, and finally settling in magnificent Fort Lauderdale, with a summer home in the North Carolina mountains. More travelling included magnificent trips to Indonesia, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Caracas, Cabo San Lucas, and many trips to Cancun, The Bahamas, and all over the US when the mood struck. Life was good. Then, in August of 2005, a visit to New Orleans changed my life again. We got caught in Hurricane Katrina and realized life is, uh, short. In mid 2006, we moved to Pensacola, Florida, a short 2 1/2 hour drive to New Orleans.
