About Me
For quite a while I was an unabashed 'myspace' user ( fyi: that link is expected to open in a new browser window so you do not get logged outta here; of course, same as going anywhere in public, be careful! Be sure your Internet Security 'stuff' is up to date ) ... you can see more of the same there, quite similar to what I have here, grin. I've not 'been there' so much recently - well, for more than the past world already, tell true - because Eons IMO better fits "most" of what I'm into now ... which is mostly annoying the technical and development staff here about things that they "could" be doing.
"Social Networking" has come a long way, to the point that it seems even Eons is using the concept ( can you say target demographic? ) to ultimately chase that almighty revenue over userbase satisfaction. I do not "blame" them for that nor do I find any real fault with it ... a bizness is a biznesss, and after all is said and done without said revenue how would the electric bill get paid?
Me, I'm just an olde fart geek wanna-be that refuses to give up on the concept that the internet ( yep, we're on the internet here folks ) should really be a wild-n-wooly free for all where information and entertainment can be had for no co$t whatsover - and with that goes the implied risk of 'nasties' reaching out and grabbing at ankles as we stroll by.
I'll be back here periodically posting more of my thoughts in this section, and might even ( OMFG ) start blogging more. Enjoy your visit please, and if needed, the "complaint department" is on the 99th floor, corridor 'C' ... take the 2nd aisle on your left and go down past all the windowed offices on your right to broom closet. I think they're open most days from 11:30 til noon, but not on any weekday ending in "Y" - - - other responsibilities, you know.
