    Hi. I was doing this piece for a series that I currently working on that deals with social, economic, sexual and racial issues. I came up with the theme of Romeo and Juliet and added a twist. I wanted to make the couple interracial. The four figures at the bottom represent their parents and shows their reaction to this couples' love for each other.(sounds familiar) These four figures could also represent a segment of our society(USA) that still has issue with mixed couples. I had planned on doing this piece realistically but I opted for a more stylized version. I have no idea why but it worked for me at the time. Hope I answered your question. Mike
