  • Love the photos of the veggies and daffodil buds. Your site is so interesting. I've always wondered what to do with plaintans. How informative.

I'm just finding my way around Eons and I'm typing this at the airport (Midway - Chgo.) on the way to visit my sister in Florida. It's great how they've installed banks of kiosks so you can surf the Web while waiting for your plan.
    Take care.

  • Thank you for your reply. I am a very curious person and whenever I see something I don't understand, I ask questions.
You asked me about the Baha'I Faith. I will try to explain it to you the best way I can. I was originally born a Catholic, and over the years, I went to different churches because of my curiosity, and what I saw and heard, I didn't like.
I found an awful lot of hypocrisy in different churches, as well as judgements being placed upon people.
I've had people tell me that I should wear a suit and tie when I come to church, and I asked why. I'm quite sure that if I go into a house of the Lord to speak to Him, He isn't going to be too concerned in how I'm dressed. Another thing I didn't like too much was people telling me that their religion is the best one and to forsake all others. Naturally, I asked, "If we all worship the same God, then why all the fuss about which religion I belong to?"
I first heard about the Baha'I Faith watching an interview of Seals and Crofts back around 1975. I really didn't become too interested until 4 years ago.
So, here is what the Baha'I faith is all about.
The Baha'I Faith is an independent world religion with believers in almost every locality of the world. Baha'is believe that Baha'u'llah, the Founder of the Baha'I Faith, is the most recent Devine Messenger that God has sent to humanity. Among these Messengers are Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, Buddha, Krishna and Zoroaster. Baha'is believe the diverse religions of the world offer different perspectives of the same truth.
The baha'I Faith welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds.

    Baha'I principles

The abandonment of all forms of prejudice.
Assurance to women of full equality of opportunity with men.
True religion is in harmony with reason and the pursuit of scientific knowledge.
The responsibility of each person to independently search for truth.
The establishment of a universal auxiliary language.
The elimination of extremes of poverty and wealth.
The establishment of a global commonwealth of nations.
    The realization of universal education.
Recognition of the unity of religious truth.

I hope this answers some of your questions, and if you'd like more information, you can call 1-800-22-UNITE.

  • I love your choice of a very readable yellow -- cheery, but not hard on the eyes.

My next door neighbor is a library historian at the Boston Public Library -- what an awesome place. I've taken the "behind the scenes" tour of it, and just love it. I go to the library weekly -- either my neighborhood branch of the BPL or a quick trip downtown on the T to the main branch at Copley Square. I feel so lucky to have that library as "my" library.

I just love what you've done with your profile. Didn't you find that as you were working on it, it brought back a lot of memories? I love going thru old pix and then figuring out when they were taken (my parents did not date them, so it's a challenge). Keep adding to it -- sounds like you've got a fascinating life story to tell!

    Boom boom boom ~suzy
