About Me

NEW!!!

The BassBoards Electronic Press Kit Widget and Video Sampler on the Left Side of My Page!!!

Also See the Audio & Video Jukebox Widgets!

I'm 60 years old and still have all my own hair! My daughter turned the beard gray; the sons are working night and day on the rest. Brooklyn-born, Sicilian, ex-Catholic (or is that "fallen"), 5' 10", 195# with so-so knees. Guess I should have stopped playing hockey at 55 before the injuries. Damn, I miss it!

A big life change just occurred in February, 2008 when I was hired FULL TIME by the pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. to work on their global Enterprise Architecture team. Not easy to get a job like this at age 60 so I'm relishing the opportunity. I must be walking in a ray of light!!!

The most fun I'm having right now is leading a rather large blues band, The BassBoards (pronounced "base"-boards...we're not a fishing group!)

I play bass and guitar, sing some lead and harmony, and do the arranging for the group, now numbering 11 regular members plus guest artists and occasional subs. (Yes, Virginia, we have a 5-piece horn section!)

Kate

The best part is that I get to perform with my daughter Kate (vocals) and her husband Mark (guitar) when they join us as guest artists. She's 29 and a personal trainer / nutritionist; my daughter by my first wife who died of breast cancer in 1983 at the age of 34...Kate was 5. We only found out a few years ago that she could sing and what you hear is pure, raw talent, no lessons! It is so special to be on stage with her.

Just search for "bassboards".  Whatever you do, PLEASE don't play the one of me impersonating Ozzie Osborne on Halloween performing Paranoid.  It was a gag.  I was drunk.  I wasn't even there.  It's an impersonator.  My car had a flat tire.  My dog ate my homework.  Whatever.  Just pleeeeeeeze don't play that video!!!

Over in my videos section, there's also one produced by Guitar One Magazine for The National Guitar Workshop in August of 2004. Greg and I backed up 35 would-be "guitar gods" on stage at the famous Bitter End in NYC. After that unique experience, we started The BassBoards (bass and keyboards).

Enjoy and WRITE TO ME!!!!

If you were a contestant on Jeopardy what would be your dream trivia category?

Words that end in "urple", foods that end in "amburger" or sounds that a dog makes. Seriously, anything but science questions. It's not that I'm a Mensa candidate; I just seem to remember a lot of weird (and useless) stuff.

Who are your heroes?

Most policemen, ALL firemen, naval aviators, people serving their country, nurses.

What is your favorite family dinner?

Cold antipasto, fresh stuffed mushrooms, Bolla Soave -- Stuffed shells with sauce meat -- Eye round roast with garlic and cloves, mashed new potatoes with garlic and butter, fresh string beans sauteed in olive oil and tarragon, Chianti Classico ('97, '99 or '01) -- Garden salad with olives and artichokes, Provolone and BelPaise cheese with crackers, Mondavi Chenin Blanc -- Fresh cannoli and napoleons, expresso with anisette, Piersporter Lay Auslese 2001, Grand Marnier Cent-Cinquantenaire

Help people in need

Do you think it's a good idea to pay for a child's college education?

No, I did it myself and they can too

Who is the most interesting person you have ever met?

Bettina. She walked onto the plane wearing a feathered boa. I prayed that she would be sitting next to me and she was. Who the hell would be wearing a feathered boa in November on a flight to Dallas? Turns out she was the costume director for an opera house. After talking on the flight, we had dinner twice and went to see Der Fledermaus (she had people to see). One of the most interesting, "out of time" people I have ever met. Don't ever change, Bettina!!!

What's your favorite game to play at home?

Computer/electronic games

How many children do you have?

2 - 3

What is your educational background?

Graduate School

Jazz/blues

What organizations do you belong to?

County Medical Reserve Corps, Boy Scouts of America (Asst. Scoutmaster & Webmaster)

What is your dream vacation?

Fly to Sicily and Malta (followed next year by Tonga). Gotta have a beautiful, romantic beach. Have lots of "vacation sex", you know, wake up, have sex, have lunch, have sex, lay out on the beach, have sex, go to dinner, have sex, go to sleep, dream about having sex. Repeat for 8 days, seven nights.

Where were you born?

Brooklyn, NY (Dyker Heights, Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst). Ever see The Sopranos? That's the way my neighborhood was when I grew up. Local dons, wiseguys, the whole nine yards. My dad's grocery was three storefronts from The Bay Ridge Social Club on 13th Avenue. Cadillacs doubleparked everywhere but no one ever got a ticket (wonder why that was...). Something got stolen from the church = body floating in the Narrows the next day. Get the picture?

$3.56 - $4.00

What is your favorite picnic food?

Grilled chicken & pasta salad
