Wow, it really is a small world. When I was a kid we lived in Houston and spent a lot of weekends in Galveston. And yes I do remember wearing shorts on Christmas. Moving here was definitely a culture shock, but I really like it here now.

What a coincidence. We moved here from Texas only way south of Dallas, Friendswood, Tx which is 25 miles from Galveston. And yes the summers (9 months of the year) were brutal. AH, but the Jan, Feb, March truly made up for it.
