Thank you, Darlene, for letting your friends know about my 15-minute online interview about From Thunder to Breakfast. It's supposed to run for a year.
Great news -- Lady Gene did a 15-minute online interview on the 20th about my book From Thunder to Breakfast. It can be heard at www.theauthorsshowbookclub.com.
Isn't it super that this community is so wonderfully active?!
Darlene, I didn't get to visit with you on October 3rd at our Book Conference because I was at the Sedona Book Festival all day long.— and I mean long! I checked in with Eons at 6:30 A.M. Mountain Standard Time, for two hours, then was back at 5:30 for another couple of hours. LONG, LONG DAY. I thought of you though, and I like your latest book.
Thanks for thinking of me, you busy lady. I started on Twitter myself, but quickly gave up because I don't have time enough for it. I'm on Facebook, but there's not much there. I really want to spread the word about my books. Just yesterday I received something from writers.com (that might not be exact). I had completely forgotten about that site. Eons, authorsden.com/ggarrison and my art sites don't leave much time for work.
I ordered your "Rover, Get Off Her Leg " book from our bookstore and expect to get a call any day now telling me that it's there. I thought they had it in stock, but now, because of the astonished look I received from the bookstore owner, I'm sure they didn't. It was funny.
Gene, I don't have that much energy! I don't know how you did all of that!!! :-) I always feel as if I'm not doing enough. I used to do far more but I was younger then. Warmly, Darlene
Darlene, yes, today was a better day. I see that you are extremely busy. I'm glad that you are finding so many sites that you can relate to on Eons.
Thinking back to when I was your age, I was on a roll too. I lived in Cave Creek, Arizona, was feature articles writer for a local magazine, founded a non-profit art gallery, was active in Community Theater, and wrote a biography about Hube Yates. I have slowed down a little.
Today is much better than yesterday. I turned off my smaller printer, unplugged it last evening, but when plugged it in and turned it on this morning it printed out a color test page and has been OK ever since. For the larger printer I simply do what I always do when printing something and the size came out OK. I was afraid I would have to call for help, but I didn't, even though it all seemed accidental.
Hope you are getting everything done that you need to do for your busy schedule.
I'm going to an art-critique meeting tomorrow morning. We have a nice little group called Q2. I have an art web-site at www.artbygarrison.com.
I like the fact that you are using your actual name, Darlene.
I've been having a frustrating day with my printers. I have two and they both ran out of ink about the same time. I'm doing refills at Walgreens, but yesterday they sent me back one cartridge with a note about an electric error. It won't work, of course. Then I had to go back and buy a new cartridge. I haven't checked it out yet. Wish me luck! My second machine finally worked, but the font is so small that I can't read it, and increasing it to 200% didn't enlarge it even to 8 points. I think I'll end up calling my computer consultant. I was trying to avoid that.
AND I got a message from platform5, saying that she was told that I couldn't say where to buy my books, except on two sites for authors. Isn't that the pits? We can mention them, but not help them purchase.
