Hi, I'm new here and I am a beginner when it comes to art, so don't take my critique to seriously. I think your apple is awesome. I am impressed by the dull or unwaxed looking parts of the apple. It looks like a real apple. As far as the stem is concerned it looks right to me. I'm not sure there is a "right" place for a stem. Nature isn't always perfectly symmetrical. The stem looks a little bit like a snake to me, but there is nothing wrong with that. It also looks just like a stem. I wonder about the placement of the shadow of the stem. It may very well be right. I'm not great with that sort of thing. I, personally, would be very proud if I had painted that apple. Good job. I hope the experts agree.

Thanks, it's only a quick sketch half hour at most, and small so it's easy to throw away, if it doesn't work. I am so Jealous of you getting your news of a grandchild. My wife and I have 3 kids 25, 29, and 32 and no news yet! What is taking them sooooo long?
