I am not in total disagreement about Biden's use of the facts. They ALL lie. Palin lied, as well. And if you have read my comments on the woman, I never said she was stupid - quite the contrary; I cautioned others who said she was not too bright, by saying that I believed her to be intelligent.

However, if you take your comments on Biden, and with the equal misrepresentations of Palin, what you and I might agree with is that the VP slot is to be viewed as which is the "lesser of evils". The question then comes down to which one would be the better President, if something happened to the person at the top of the ticket.

In the CBS interview, the question of which Supreme Court decision was distasteful to her. Palin had no answer, and I do not fault her for that. That was a lousy question.

But the question of which newspapers she reads? All of them? That was crap. It was either a cop-out because she only reads the local "Moose Gazette", or she reads nothing.

Her knowledge of World affairs is obviously limited. There can be no question of that. And as several political pundits point out, imagine it is 9/11/01, the Trade Centers have just imploded and the President is on Air Force One. The VP is in control of our entire military and civilian infrastructure. We don't yet know that it was a select number of planes that were involved - we did not know what we were dealing with. Do you really want someone who has that limited experience in control? Is she really competent to make those kinds of decisions, when she is still on her Learners' License?

On another front, I vividly remember Jimmy Carter coming to the White House as a Washington "outsider". My view of Carter was that he was the most honest, well meaning people that has hald the Presidency, in my lifetime. But principally because he was an outsider, he was an abject failure, as a President. This is another issue for Gov. Palin. Moreover, she does not have the tact and the diplomacy to enter into the DC community, on the short term. McCain has shown in the past week that he cannot even generate support from his own party. That makes a heck of a case for Obama/Biden, as insiders. If you are going to get anything done in Washington, you HAVE to be able to work WITH people, and McCain no longer does effectively. And I was ready to vote for him, in his previous attempt, specifically because of that. Palin would be the kiss of death for that issue, because she does not know the people, the issues or her way around.

Finally, in the debate, I was struck with the fact that both of them dodged questions in the beginning. Biden finally got with the program and said what needed to be said. Palin never did, in many circumstances. She specifically admitted that she was not answering the questions the way the moderator wanted. ??? That's what we need! One more politician that does not feel the need to answer to the people that elected him/her! We fought for independence to escape royalty and divine right of kings philosophies. With Gov. Palin, it seems to me that she feels that call to divinity, again. That is something I cannot tolerate.

I to appreciate your comments, and I would welcome more. Though we disagree, I hope you will see that I do not answer you in a disparaging way.

Thanks again.
