Russell, the photo was taken alongside Hwy 120 at the east entrance to Yosemite. The elev. is around 9500'. I live on the east side of the Sierras. It can get pretty here. Frank
Why thank you so much for the nice comment on my flower picture. My friend had picked them from her flower bed for me. I thought it was different. I think its a MUM, but not sure. Thanks again!
What I really liked about this photo besides the translucense of the petals in the sun, was how I caught the flying bug right beside it. Turns out nice in a 8x10
Thanks for the comment on my photo. I use a Canon 350D and almost always a polarizing filter. Tripod and stop way down to get the slow shutter for the veiling in the water. Of Course good light is essential. Bright sun makes a waterfall shot really tough. Usually 1/2 to 2 secs. NC is a great place for waterfalls. Mud Creek Falls just outside Sky Valley is easy to approach, private and quite picturesque in spite of its lovely name.
your flower pics are gorgeous. Talk about pretty colors............. we lived in Goldsboro, N.C. from 1967-1969, on Ash Street, right across from the hospital.
Wow, you must've found Mrs. right to be married all those years. I'll bet she's your best friend. My husband of 37 years was 19 when we married, too, and on leave from Navy just out of Bootcamp. My hat's off to you both! Cheryl
