Thank you for the nice compliment. Have no clue who/what Erste is. Never used it. I use whatever is handy, so it's no special pastel paper or anything of the like. Actually I never use "pastel paper" per se. The commercial stuff is just that...too commercial. I prefer (and use most often) is German sandpaper...maybe that's what you mean by Erste...I think they either changed the name or I'm using some really, really old sandpaper I've had for a thousand years. I also like to use vellum. Vellum is more of a designers paper, translucent and will really take a beating. Charcoal, pastel and turpentine work wonders on that non-art paper. I buy vellum by the roll (52" wide) at architectual supply houses.
Most of what I use in the studio is NOT purchased at commercial art supply stores.:)

maybe thats the problem, there is no focal point really is there.......I had done a larger picture that I wrecked and cut this out as I liked certain parts of it and thought I could make a picture. I hate throwing stuff away haha.
Ah well, maybe this is another do over. I think you are right
