I have one too (A-5) and yes I love that gun, I too am from the red stick and am a cajun living in Tampa Florida now where I hunt on my ranch, I had my gun reblued and the saftey fixed by Ruger and they kept my magazine nut which caused a delay in their gettin paid, so don't send it to them get a local gunsmith to fix you gun
