HI Ya! Thanks so much for comment on my WIP, and you are absolutely right! The wing really bugs me and I realized after painting it all in that it does look that way, anyway, was planning on doing "something" to relieve that later, and I really like your suggestion about the moon. The photo does not show the orangy glow up there..but I will make an adjustment..Thanks so much!
I visited a friend in Tuscon once and I laughed because every bridge we went over naming the river that ran underneath was nothing but a dry gully. They WERE having a prolonged drought. Your painting is still gorgeous! Anne
I mixed all the paint with a little gum arabic...poured the layers of all..I did dry brush the wood grain, then went back into it and lifted areas for more highlights between grain. If done correctly the pint only stays in the wet area, although I masked the teacups area to protect then did the background first...it's a great technique especially to cover a large area, the overall size of this is 12" x 12"
You are welcome- I really admire your w/c- I have absolutely no control in that medium- too heavy handed from years of oils. Now I am painting acrylics on canvas, but without water or other painting medium like extender- just straight colors. Peace :-) Cath
