I went on the Sweetwaters' Rhino Expedition and it was everything they promised - and more. We saw lots and lots of animals - some close, but we were always safe. Food was great, staff was fabulous. Work was fun and the whole experience was the best of my life.
Hi, I am Li-Ju, a student helper in "Chinese Village Traditions" expedition of Earthwatch last year. I am a PhD student in Indiana University Bloomington. I am working on my dissertation about volunteer tourism. I would like to invite experienced volunteer tourists in my online survey. If you are willing to help, please go to the link: view link
If you know anyone who have similar experience, please feel free to distribute the survey link. Thanks for your kindly help.
I am a 58 year old retired school teacher. I have been on 3 Earthwatch Expeditions since 2005....Each was wonderful...I have been on the Samburu/Lewa Grevy's Zebra in 2005; Amazon Riverboat in 2006, and South Africa's Brown Hyena's in 2007. They were all well organized and educational. The opportunity to work on site side by side with others in the field is awesome. You can't beat the scenery or animal viewing. If anyone has any questions feel free to e-mail me at ltalso@hotmail.com Please put Earthwatch in the subject line. (The only reason I am not currently signed up for another expedition ... is because I am doing the primary care for my aging parents). I look forward to having the time to go on future expeditions.
My interest is, and has been, in the peoples of the planet. Those who are technically situated may not be the best indicators of the health of our world. They are the collectors of the nuances and waves measuring the changes being made, while the bulk of lifestyle and populations in general become the carriers. I've been a supporter of the wild creatures filling the places which civilization appears to disrupt continually in greater and greater measure.
I'm not sure who wrote that, but it certainly wasn't someone from Earthwatch! We're all about taking action to help lead the world to a more sustainable environment. I really like your Group and send people there often!
Thank you for the invite Jon but I was in the group and had a problem with a moderator? manager? because I had the NERVE to disagree BOLDLY with someone wh wrote in this group and in one of my others - Save Our Planet - When he wrote a lot of foolishness abut how we are wasting our time and energy tryng to save ur planet and should just sit and be afraid because in the next 1000 years or so a comet might hit the earth or the super volcano under the Grand Canyon area mght exlode.
The new 2009 Expedition Guide is here! There are research projects in 30 countries working on climate change, ocean health, threatened natural resources and cultures. Want to take a look at them all online right now? Just go here:
To all of our supportive supporters, go to view link to read the re-cap of our successful Beat the Heat Climate Change Campaign. A very cool press release will be distributed via a special environmental wire tomorrow, so keep your eye out for it! Of course, it will be on the Earthwatch site as well.
