There was some fishing activity when we were there, but certainly nothing like it used to be. It's a shame that all those fishermen went under due to "big business". Have you been up to Rockport? That has to be my favorite little town. I just love walking those streets. I've got about a million pictures of that red shackhouse that's called Motif 1, it's supposed to be one of the most photographed buildings in the world.

Nope, Route 66 is 100 miles north. I did the 66 trip last spring on the way back from picking up the car in Detroit. Went from Chicago to Flagstaff with lots of side trip where the road still exists through IL, MO, KN, OK, NM and AZ which has the longest stretch - From Seligman to the California border. That stretch hosts a 2 day cruise every May. view link Driving the "Mother Road" is a real step back in time.

we were in Boston for a conference in 1976. No tall ships though, but lots of old Mayflower types to visit. I'd love to see the tall ships.
