I know what you mean. I tend to rely on auto focus too much. Even in this picture, the branch is more in focus than the birds. But being at the zoo with a grandchild keeps my focus very split.
I took a stroll through the pictures on your profile page and admire your all your photos, but especially the one of the beautiful snowcovered tree in the still, quiet forest.
