The butterfly is a design that was inspired by Ann Benson's "Painted lady" pin in one of her books. Forutnatley, Anne gives permission to copy her designs, to I took advantage. Then I freeform embroidered the rest of the collar around her butterfly. Thanks for the compliments.
There is no greater satisfaction then when a stranger sees a piece of your art and likes it so much they want to buy it!!! Once at a Christmas party a co-worker of my husband's bought the necklace right off my neck!!! :) At the craft fairs I show my work there are at least 2 or 3 other beaders showing also. I try to not follow the trends too much and strive to make my things unique, maybe that helps my sales? Plus having 2 older sisters, their daughters and all my nieces to give me feed back on style, workmanship and pricing really helps too!
