Places I've been
Too many to list, I have been to about 25 different countries around the world and lived in a few of them. At present, I live in Bangkok, Thailand. I do travel to the USA at least once a year, mostly to Southern California.

First of all, I think I am the only one not from the US to be on here. In fact, I had to put in a US zip code to become a member here! I presently live in one of the most exotic countries in the world. and was born in an even more exotic one!

I am Asian by race, and French by nationality. I have been really fortunate to have traveled to so many different countries and have come to appreciate all cultures/religions. I think I can say that I know something about America and its people as I have visited the USA a great number of times.

I hope I can get some responses from my fellow senior citizens, especially from ones who love to travel to places known and unknown, to experience safe adventures, and also to exchange meaningful conversations, be it face to face or virtual ones.

 

 

Activities
It goes without saying that I enjoy traveling, especially to new places. In the past I used to travel to see the sights but now I am more interested in meeting people and learning more about them. Having meaningful conversations with others can be very educational.
Favorite Music
Being an oldie myself, I like oldies music the best, especially from the late 50's and early 60's, the music I grew up with. Play me any song from that era. and nine times out of ten I can name the singer/group, the year it was popular and of course the title of the song!
Favorite TV Shows
I liked the old Starsky and Hutch series and Hunter. Wonder if they have re-runs? And oh, another favorite is Fantasy Island.
Favorite Movies
Die Hard and Lethal Weapon, this genre. The first Die Hard and Lethal Weapon were probably the best.
Favorite Books
Ever heard of James Hadley Chase? I used to read quite a lot of his books.

Favorite People
Down to earth and unassuming folks. People who do not put on a mask when they talk with you.
Favorite Places
I would say Lisbon, Portugal in Europe, and Penang, Malaysia in Asia. Lisbon because of its food and feel.....the sea, the people, the monuments. Penang with its multi-cultural society and it's blend of old colonial buildings and modern skyscrapers. The variety of food available there is incredible! And the beach is so clean and unlike other more well known beaches, not crowded at all.
