Originally from Germany but have lived in Oklahoma now for 23 years and just become an Honorary - or was that Hornery? - Okie.

I was born and raised in Germany and came to the USA in 1984. To Oklahoma to be specific. Have lived in Oklahoma since then, gotten my GED, and a BS and MS in psychology. I have always loved helping people, ran a daytreatment for mentally ill people for years to the point of burn out. Then started working for a hospice company where I found my true passion, caring for older people ( older then me anyway) and helping them stay home rather then be forced to go to nursing homes. This led to me going into business for myself ( since I want to spend time with clients and family as needed). Usually, working for others put time constraints on me. Now, I finally have the freedom to do things my way. This includes picking caregivers very carefully, matching them with clients, supporting caregivers and clients and just being available when needed. And YES, even at night. I may not get the sleep I need all the time, but I'm happy now - and so are the few clients and caregivers I already have.
