I have always considered myself strong, but on our 10th wedding anniversary (March 4, 2009) we found out that my husband has small cell carcinoma lung cancer which had already spread to his brain. This came 4 months after I was layed off from my job as a lab tech at Rayovac in Dec 2008. I had been with Rayovac for 28 years and then due to economic downsizing I, along with many others, was let go.  Luckily I found a job in January 2009.  It does not pay half as much, but it has good insurance, which is important due to my husbands illness.  I know that we will get through this tough time, I am just hoping to meet others who are going through or have been through similar times. It would be good to talk/email others who know what I am dealing with. 

I don't mean to sound like a sad sack, I love doing fun things and always have.  Dancing, reading, being a Red Hat Lady, these are all things I enjoy.
