I love being an artist!  I've had a most interesting and wonderful life doing what I enjoy most of all: making, teaching and filling my life with art related activities.  Most of my friends are artists in one form or another and that's wonderful, too. These creative people make life joyous and grand, with something new always just around the corner.

I began painting, using oils 45 years ago, and the application of pigments to paper or canvas is still an amazing experience for me.  I’ve used watercolors and acrylics exclusively for the last two decades until a short time ago when I went full circle and returned to my first love, oil paints.

My return to oils after such a long absence has been wonderful, much like becoming reaquainted with an old friend.  I love the body and feel of the pigment, the smell of turps and the luminous quality of the paint on canvas.  

I try to paint or do some art related activity every day, even if it's only for a little while.
