Places I've been
I lived in Kabul, Afghanistan, for 10 years and Washington DC (Alexandria, VA) for 20 years. Other places I have lived are Houston TX, Ann Arbor MI, Detroit MI, Ypsilanti MI and Sault Ste Marie, MI. I have travelled to England, Scotland, Iceland, Greece, India, Mexico and Tahiti, and of course to Canada which was 30 miles from where I grew up, and have been in the airport of many other places.

I retired from the World Bank in Washington DC in 1998 and moved to Gilbert AZ, primarily because all my sons wanted to move to AZ.  I am divorced, have 3 sons all living in or near Gilbert, and 6 grandchildren who also live nearby.

I love the climate here.  Even the heat.  Every year when I travel back to Michigan or Virginia the humidity nearly does me in.

Late 60s, early 70s...Beatles, Rolling Stones, Mamas & Pappas...all of the music from that era, Soundtracks from Evita, Cabaret, etc., some classical music

CSI Las Vegas, ER, Criminal Minds, The View, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Simpsons, South Park, King of the Hill, and anything on National Geographic channel, the Discovery Channel, etc.

Shirley Valentine, Lawrence of Arabia, Empire of the Sun, Blade Runner, Dirty Dancing, Terminator series, Aliens series, and many, many others.
Favorite Books
Too many to mention. I have a huge library at home and constantly take books out of the library. Some of my favorites are out of print and very hard to find, mostly historical novels by Kenneth Roberts, Neil Harmon Swanson and any of the books by Norah Lofts. I absolutely detest "romances"
