My previous username, Mzungu (mazungoo), means 'white person' in Kiswahili. The term is used in many African countries and is not used in a derogatory manner. An extensive blog about our experiences in Uganda:

2 Oct 2009 we returned home to Scotland. It was very sad to leave Uganda but were quite happy to finally be home in Scotland.
I am American and my husband is Scottish. In 2007 I was granted UK citizenship after passing the requirements including a test and handing over tons of money to the Home Office. I am now a dual US/UK citizen with two passports. Our permanent home is on a lovely coastal road in Argyll in west Scotland. I have 2 adult sons and an adorable granddaughter who live in the US. My husband has a daughter who lives in Scotland with her husband. No grandkids - yet.
