More about me
An American of Irish ancestry who just happened to be born the day after St. Patrick's Day, I have always felt "connected" to Ireland. I made my first visit to Ireland in 1966 and immediately knew I was home. I returned to the US and became the first American ever hired by the Irish Tourist Board in New York, and worked there until 1985, when I became a fulltime freelance writer specializing in the Emerald Isle including writing 12 books about Ireland. My "partner" in travels and writings is my husband John J. Preston, son of Mayo-born parents. We reside in the Hudson River Valley in an area that reminds us of the Emerald Isle. We both hold dual citizenship in Ireland and the US. In our spare time, we use our knowledge of Ireland to plan and escort tours to the Emerald Isle.
