Places I've been

We've led an isolated life, up until recently. I can barely find my way out of a cornflake box, much less Appleton!

Seriously, we spent a couple of weeks in Peru the summer of 2007. You can read about the adventure at my web site, Over 50, Still Kickin'.

I've also been to Salinas, CA and Pittsburgh -- but only because my kids have lived there, and we had to visit them. Both times we got horribly sick (no immunity to the local viruses). My husband almost got lost in a cauliflower field in CA, and on the way home from Pittsburgh, an Indiana highway patrolman became convinced that this innocent-looking grandma was a criminal in disguise.

Oh yes! And there was the trip to Pensacola to deliver our daughter to Bible school. I nearly side-swiped a semi coming home, and we risked food poisoning at a truck stop in Arkansas where the food was unidentifiable.

Traveling seems to be hazardous to our health.

More about me

I'm the author of eleven books in the fields of Christian and home education.  I specialize in writing about prayer and character building topics.  I also crank out some pretty funny stuff about everyday small-town life from a baby boomer's perspective.  A little bit of all of the above appears at my web site, LeeAnnRubsam.com.

My husband Paul and I have two daughters -- one grown, and one who would like to think she is.
