I have not been too very far from the Midwest. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I have made a trip to Florida and a short cruise to the Bahamas.

I think that I will work on this section a little bit.

As I have stated before I was born in March 1950.  I had a pretty normal childhood for that time and for an African-American in that area.  I was my parents oldest child.  I have a sister six years younger than me, and a brother six years younger than that.  I used to joke that my mother wanted to always have a baby but she didn't want to have one every year, so she waited til they started school before having another one.  My sister lives here in Alton.  My brother is living in the Chicago area.

I am living with my son and his family.  We get along very well.  In fact my son and I have always gotten along.

I finished high school but I just could not do what needed to be done to finish college.  I did go to community college and received an associate's degree.  But I just wouldn't finish the next two years.  I think I was just afraid that I would become a college graduate and not find a job that showed that fact.

Most of the jobs I held involved working with people.  I did work in a glass factory packing bottles.  I did a short stint as nurse's aide in a hospital and nursing homes.  This led to working as a home health aide several times.  I worked with the developmentally disabled in a training center.  I ended working as a sales associate in a department store.  I am now on Social Security Disability.

My ailments; complaints; whatever you want to call them; include atrial fibulation, CHF, high blood pressure, severe osteoarthritis, asthma and a few other conditions.  Medications seem to be keeping things under control.  I probably would be doing better if I lost A LOT of weight and became more active.  I think I need to set up some goals to get me motivated.

I like to cook and I am the best taster of what I cook.  I also like to read, nothing serious, I don't want to think just have some quiet time.  I also can be found working crossword puzzles, word finds, and sudoku.

I am a Christian.  I have faith in one God and His son, Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I know that He has sent the Holy Spirit as my guide and protector during this life.

I am glad that I found EONS.  One of the best things about the site is the cost--FREE.  I see that there are people from everywhere with all types of interests.
