I'm an Oilfield Brat so I've been to a lot of West Texas Places while growing up. Since then, I've visited a few cities I probably wouldn't have ever seen - all because my youngest daughter played on a travel softball team until she started college. Plenty of places left, tho, that I would like to see .. I especially would like to go to the Diamond Field in - is it Alabama? (Arkansas? heck.. you know where I mean, right?)... hmmm you know what they say- diamonds are a girl's best friend!

About me, eh? Well, let's see: I'm 61 and fixing to officially retire. I'm single, not my choice, but have moved on; I try to treat people the way I want to be treated and kill with the kindness the ones I can't. I have friends that have been my friends for 20 years or more and will be till the day we/I die - thank God for good friends. They are our Angels here on Earth.
I'm pretty much a "what you see is what you get" person. I'm serious, sometimes too much; I like a good joke and I have a great sense of humor-when things are too serious or nasty, I tend to try to laugh at it or myself and loosen the tension-I do have a sarcastic wit-some people just don't get that life is toooo serious - toooo short --- so LIGHTEN UP for GOD's sake!
I work hard (but I'm tired), I'm honest to a fault (but will tell a "little white lie" sometimes to save a friends' feelings); I pretty much lay my cards on the table, so to speak, and am outspoken and talk too much when I should be listening (can I help it if my brain runs ahead?).
I like myself as a person and I know (most of the time) who I am and where I am! Seriously, I don't want to grow old; I don't want to be alone but I'm not ready for a serious relationship-not yet but getting there; but I would like to make some new friends and open those horizons some. I would like to travel some and see places I haven't seen (I'd love to do it in an RV/Coach, where I could take my time, stay a while, then move on when ready).
My ideal place to live - in a cottage on a lake with a boat ramp and pier where I can fish at night when I can't sleep and answer to no one else if I DON'T WANT TO. - doesn't mean I wouldn't like to have company now and then... who knows where that road leads to? I've learned to never say "never". The hard way.
UPDATE: I now live in a small house by a LAKE.. YEAAAAA - not exactly how i envisioned it, but hey, it's a start. Things are improving - no job now for nearly 2 years - hanging on by a toenail, but hanging.. i now sell Avon - see the widget.. shop shop buy buy buy..
Wishing you all a happy summer!

I'm kinda between on music right now. I listen to an oldies station; I like the older Country Music (love Willie Nelson, Conway Twitty) some Garth Brooks), Love Peter Frampton Live, The Doobie Brothers; I really like the old smooth music like Michael Bubble is bringing back. Whatever happened to Dino and Frank... miss their type music a lot - but don't tell my dad! That and the big bands is what I grew up on.. and really like hearing it today).

I love my little dog, Charlie (I've posted his picture); I also have a bird (Corky) and a huge, monster cat named Connie. I've had to have my blessed Sheltie, Herbie and my blessed "Ole Man-Cat" Peabody, put to sleep because of Old Age and health issues they couldn't survive - nearly killed me and I miss them both to this day! UPDATE: Now have 3 dogs- a "Weenie dog"- named "COOPER" and I have "inherited" my daughters long haired mini "weenie" Zeus and of course Charlie....and a Tom Cat - Kit Kat (named by my dad)
