My name is Paul and I have lived in Godfrey IL for nearly forty years.  I have been retired for over 15 years from a huge aircraft company in the St. Louis area.  I live in a wooded area in the suburbs and enjoy nature, the quiet environment and the freedom afforded by the isolation from the busy, harried city life.

I have five successful children rangeing in age from 39 to 49, none of which live with me. I keep very busy keeping up with the maintence and caring for the grounds but have ample time to pursue my hobbies , have an occasional dinner out,  usually buffets,  and enjoy ballroom dancing frequently.

Activities
Gardening (all kinds) carpentry, mechanics, masonry, vehicle restoring, crafts, hunting, swimming, traveling , home maintainence and remodeling, antiques, science fiction/drama movies and avid ballroom dancer.

Favorite Music
When dancing its Glenn Miller all the way and to a minor extent any big band music, once popular now oldie, dance piece. I wouldn't short change a good umpa, poka/waltz band either. For sheer relaxation, I prefer classical music.
Favorite TV Shows
Daily news and news programs like 60 minutes, Dateline, and for just entertainemt, dramas like NCSI and all the other CSI s. I enjoy a good science fiction movies or patriotic movies as "We Were Soilders" very much.
Favorite Books
I dont have any favorite books anymore. The last one I read in its entirety was a long time ago and it was "Road Less Traveled". At the time I thought it was the most remarkable book I ever opened. I don't care much for works of fiction.
Favorite Quotes
Gee Wiz. I'll bet, like everybody else, I heard a million quotes in my life: from anybody way, way back in history up thru Churchill. I am found of dozens and whenever I get the chance I usually repeat one and then I usually gets a blank stare.

Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, numerous museums including the Chicago Science Museum, Wright Pattersom, etc. Have yet to see the Smithsonian.
