Places I've been
I'm not going to try to compete with that Johnny Cash song, but it's been mostly in the midwest. Had a tour in Panama in the army and 3 1/2 great yrs. in Toronto, but otherwise (aside from brief trips) in Columbus, Dayton & Cincinnati, OH, prior to coming back to Oxford. Aside from a generic desire to see anywhere and everywhere, I'd most like to see New Zealand, South America and Northern Italy. Even though it's all relative, and ultimately dependent upon, the companionship along the journey, right? Independent exploration is great of course (always doing that), but still less than the explosions of fun experienced as a couple.

Activities
The about me part apparently doesn't work! I'm a deep-seated liberal, romantic, environmentalist and lover. I find endless satisfaction in my treasure chest of chores on my property, yet am also involved with several environmental groups. I'm very positive, affectionate, listen to PBS daily, want to find someone to seduce me into bicycle riding, am a conglomeration of contrasts: between serious when necessary but much more innately optimistic and facetious; very intelligent yet ridiculously dense at times; am not a stereotypical macho man; practice random acts of kindness, and refuse to abandom the wisdom of the idealism of our generation - incl. growing up only to become an old wrinkle! I love life, intimacy, and hope to find a creative woman willing to TEMPORARILY move here with me.
Favorite Charities
I contribute to local sustainable/environmental/anti-development groups, as well as global conservation efforts, both financially and with contributive actions.
Favorite Music
Extremely eclectic: from old '50's/60's rock & roll, to classical, to world music, to great R&B, and the sounds of nature from one's window. Much less the music of soft conversation, family banter, and touch.
Favorite TV Shows
Political satire, foreign comedy, news, detective shows, sports (football, March Madness & soccer), good nature documentaries, etc. I'm not, however, a couch potato.

Whatever I'm reading at the time. Which, I must admit, is a relatively new, but ongoing, thrill.

Aside from the classic versions of 'the love you take is equal to the love you make, to those endorsing openness, understanding of the uniqueness of us all, and the pre-imminence of those things so supremely more important than materialism, labels and self-centeredness.

Lots of courageous pioneers, and those who follow the beat of a different drummer. While embracing the real world, of course. Those who act on their concern about helping their local or global environment.
