I'm a 63 year old believer in Jesus who has been pursued, taught and loved by Him since childhood. I was born the last of 7 on a 1200 acre farm in NE Montana (keep in mind--the land was so poor, it took 1200 acres to make a living--half grainfields, half pasture). My husband and I met at Bible School in California in the early 60's, married in 1965 in Minnesota, moved back to California and lived there 28 years (first in the San Fernando Valley and then at the far northern reaches of the Antelope Valley) and moved back to Minnesota in 1993. We enjoyed backpacking in the Sierras alot, along with our two sons (now 38 and 40) during those years. We have 8 grandchildren.
The most powerful thing I am recently learning about God is that He is never done working within and through our lives. He is always a gentle and thorough instructor. He knows our capacities for stretching and our need for resting.
If money were suddenly available without limitation, I'd want to pay off our boys' home mortgages, give huge chunks of money to Wycliffe Associates (Scripture translation) and also to Voice of the Martyrs. Then I'd buy a midsize SUV and come and meet some of you people!! Most recently read book is Across the China Sky, which exposes something vital and frightening about a new form of attack on house churches in China. If you are interested in China at all, this is a must read.

"We need to live life the way it is, not the way we wish it was" "It's all good." (our 40 year old son--you'd have to hear the stories to know why this one's a keeper) "Next year will be better" ("famous saying" in the dry country of Montana! The God-trusting farmers among whom I grew up were always "trusting God for next year"!)

Our dogs over the years: Sierra King (Husky); Miss Daisy (Dalmatian); Lady Charcoal Charmagne (coyote/dog mix--had to have a very fancy name because somebody had abandoned her and we wanted to boost her self-image!); Bear (German Shepherd/Pit Bull--terrific family pet for us, but we understand the pb issues); Charcoal (Calico cat)
