High School trip to Spain; various cities in US for business; several cruises to the Caribbean

I am 52 yr young guy, happily married for 30 yrs this July, 2 adult children - a daughter and son now on their own, and a 3 yr old Yorkie that lives like a prince ! I am a Systems Analyst - at the same company since 1989, and hope to call it quits in about 5 yrs. Now that we are empty nesters and can see retirement on the horizon, I am searching for new hobbies, new friends, places to travel, etc. I love gardening in the summertime, though it is tough with all the huge pine trees close to my house. We have a condo on the ocean in Fort Walton Beach, FL since 2002, and it is beatuiful there. The water color and sand remind me of the Caribbean. We have taken about 6 cruises to the Caribbean. I like the Southern Caribbean best, great places to swim, snorkel, and even shop a little ! We usually go with my wife's sister & husband, and the last trip (Feb 2005) was without our kids, and the first time we had balconies !! Once I retire, I would love to hike the Appalachian Trail !! I have read a number of books on it, and I would love traveling by foot through all of those mountains, woods, fields and streams. I found Eons a few weeks ago, and really enjoy reading what everyone has to say. I am so happy that I am part of the baby boomer generation. I was too young for Woodstock, but my friend and I hitchhiked the few hundred miles to attend the Watkin's Glen, NY concert !!! What a weekend that was !! There has not been any generation before or since, that has had the fantastic bands and music that we grew up with !!
